Enchanting Canyonlands of the American Southwest

Standard DreamTrip
Take the ultimate road trip, from Arizona to Utah to Nevada, with overnight stops at the Grand Canyon, Lake Powell & Zion National Park. See world-class landscapes, ride in an ATV across the desert, take a cruise through a slot canyon, stay at premier accommodations & much more. (AGES 5+ ONLY)
Book by February 7.

About Your Trip

Nothing is more amazing than the American Southwest, a diverse and beautiful terrain of canyons, deserts and plateaus that date back millions of years. On this DreamTrip for guests ages 5 years and older, you’ll experience cities, towns and lakeside and canyonside venues as well as the one of the most spectacular places on earth — South Rim of the Grand Canyon.

Your 7-day adventure begins in Scottsdale, known as the “West’s Most Western Town,” that lies within the Sonoran Desert of central Arizona. Then, it’s time to hit the road with the first stop at Sedona, where you’ll have free time to look around this desert oasis known for art galleries, boutiques and hiking trails through famous red rock formations. You’ll drive along Oak Creek Canyon, a massive river gorge formed 65 million years ago, to Grand Canyon National Park. At the park, join in a talk from a local expert about the wonders of the Grand Canyon, established as a UNESCO World Heritage site on October 26, 1979. Each year, more than 5 million visitors experience the canyon’s overwhelming size and vibrant, red-orange hues.

Say goodbye to this iconic landmark and hello to Lake Powell in northern Arizona. Along the way, visit at a traditional-style trading post for a glimpse into Navajo culture — perhaps find some handicrafts to purchase as a souvenir! Continue through Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park to where you’ll board an all-terrain vehicle for up-close views of the valley full of towering rocks that rise from the desert floor. Lead by a local Navajo guide, you’ll traverse the backcountry for incredible sites of this sacred homeland of the Navajo people. On the way to your lakeside resort near Page, stop at Glen Canyon Dam, boasting a concrete arch-gravity dam, 710 feet (216 meters) above the Colorado River.

After a morning of leisure, take a boat cruise through Antelope Canyon, a geological wonderland where you can expect photo opportunities that are second to none. Marvel at this slot canyon with sheer rock walls of Navajo sandstone where light is known to reflect in a magical way. On Day 5, you’ll cross into Southern Utah on the way to Zion National Park. But first, make your way to Bryce Canyon National Park for a stroll along Sunset Point. You’ll be captivated by the largest concentration of hoodoos (or thin spires) on the planet!

The next day, continue southwestward into Nevada to your final destination, Las Vegas. Board a private Zion Canyon Shuttle and travel through Zion National Park. Onboard the bus, enjoy live commentary and then free time to explore the park. End your memorable journey at Las Vegas, “The Entertainment Capital of the World.”

What we love:
• Once a desert community of ranches and farms, Scottsdale has grown into a city frequently named one of the best places in America to visit, live and do business.
• Within Grand Canyon National Park, a complimentary shuttle bus service runs from the Visitor Center to the Grand Canyon Village, as well as to popular scenic viewpoints along the South Rim.
• Antelope Canyon, located on Navajo Indian tribal lands, is the most photographed slot canyon in the world — it’s especially attractive in late morning or midday when beams of light filter through the slim cracks in the red sandstone to the canyon floor.
• Feeling lucky? Head to any of the 100 casinos scattered around Las Vegas to test your luck. Or, walk along The Strip, a long street lined with elaborate hotels, such as the pyramid-shaped Luxor®, The Venetian® Resort, known for its Grand Canal Shoppes, and the Bellagio®, famous for its dancing fountains.
• To maximize your enjoyment, download the DreamTrips™ app to access DreamTrips Local — then earn points on dining, entertainment, spa experiences & more at select spots recommended by DreamTrippers just like you!
